Crispness and Immune Support with Granny Smith Apples

The star ingredient of our Halloween Apple Bites is the Granny Smith apple. Renowned for its crisp texture and tangy flavor, this apple variety also boasts a high vitamin C content. Vitamin C is known to support a healthy immune system, keeping you feeling your best during the spooky season.

Pine Nuts for Crunch and Essential Minerals

Adding a delightful crunch to these apple bites is the pine nuts. Not only do they provide a satisfying texture, but they also offer essential minerals such as magnesium and zinc. Sugar Candy Eyes and Strawberry Tongue for Beauty Boost

To bring our Halloween Apple Bites to life, we adorn them with sugar candy eyes for that whimsical touch. Additionally, we create a tongue using juicy strawberries. Strawberries are packed with antioxidants that promote a radiant complexion, adding a beauty boost to these delightful treats.

Peanut Butter for Healthy Fats and Sustained Energy

Completing the assembly is a dollop of peanut butter. Not only does it add a delectable flavor, but it also provides a source of healthy fats and protein. These nutrients contribute to sustained energy levels and help keep you feeling satisfied throughout your Halloween celebrations.

Ingredients

  • Granny Smith apples

  • Pine nuts

  • Peanut butter

  • Strawberries

  • Sugar candy eyes

Directions

  • Start by washing and drying the Granny Smith apple thoroughly. Cut it in half, but not all the way through. Leave a small portion connected to create the “face” shape.
  • Remove the core from the apple half.
  • Spread a thin layer of peanut butter on the cut side of the apple half, creating the mouth area.
  • Place a row of pine nuts along the edge of the apple half, pressing them into the peanut butter. These will resemble the teeth.
  • Add two sugar candy eyes above the teeth, gently pressing them into the peanut butter so they stick.
  • Take a strawberry and cut off the stem end to create a flat base. Cut a small slit at the pointed end to make it look like a tongue.
  • Spread a little peanut butter on the flat base of the strawberry and press it onto the apple half, just below the teeth. The strawberry will act as the tongue.
  • Repeat the steps above to make more apple bites with teeth, eyes, and tongues.
  • Arrange the finished apple bites on a serving platter and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the peanut butter set.
  • Serve your spooky Halloween apple bites and enjoy!
